Besteam Feature On behalf Of

Upon first glance at this shop, you notice the wild wonderful color, shocking the senses for a good cause.  We are honored and humbled to write about this worthy undertaking.

On Behalf Of is the vision of Kate the creator and owner. She has been inspired by those less fortunate to create on their behalf.

She has developed prints that call attention to the need for clean drinking water in African communities as well as the need to help with millions of children who have been orphaned due to war conflicts or parental death from aids.

On behalf of is certainly a different kind of Etsy shop.  There is a hauntingly beautiful collage which draws attention to the ongoing needs of the people in Haiti.

This intricately woven bracelet is dedicated to given HOPE to orphan children around the world.

Even you can do something to stop human trafficking. This print is being sold in order to raise funds to stop modern day slavery.

Writing this feature On Behalf Of was a profound eye opening event.   Please take a few moments out of your day, stop by and visit On Behalf of.   There is so much more to this shop than prints.  Take time to read the informative description about each item in the shop.  You may find a cause that is near and dear to your on heart.

Keep up with all of the latest On Behalf Of

How I started Crafting

One rainy afternoon 40 years ago in Southeast Georgia, I was fascinated by the crochet hook working its way so swiftly through the yarn in my grandmothers hands. So of course I asked her if she would teach me that magic art. I learned to crochet, then sew and quilt and realized how rewarding it was to create things with my hands. Over the years I moved on to sketching, painting, paper sculpting and stain glass work. Time moved on, I married and had a family. I had beautiful angelic little girls, girls that needed dresses, dance costumes and hair bows. There were beauty pageants complete with rhinestones, sequins, organza and tulle. I stayed busy and happy for years. Alas, the time came and the little angels finished college and flew away. Now I am the grandmother swiftly weaving the rhinestone decorated tulle in to beautiful tutus and joyously twisting ribbon into lovely little hair bows for the newest heavenly arrivals. I feel that you can  never be too old to learn a new craft.    Crafting sometimes can be artist way of showing love.

Only 10 hours left!!

Check the Buy and Replace (BNR) treasury that we are in by ShaggyChic. Here’s how it works: You purchase and item from a shop in the treasury, comment your transaction number at the bottom of the page and your shop will then replace that seller on the treasury. We were featured and we bought from ScentedLuxuries so now we have two pictures in the treasury. Take a look!

Ok We Admit It…We’re Addicts!

We are ready to come clean and admit the truth. We are addicted to TRADING on ETSY! We stumbled upon a forum thread on etsy call Trade-A-Holics. It is a fabulous group that works together to show appreciation to and for other sellers on etsy. This particular evening the group was having a weekend trade and I lucked out finding it early the last day. I was sucked in immediately. Basically you put your name out there and open up items for trade in your shop and you look at others or wait for them to look at yours and invite you to a trade. It was such am excited rush to find out someone wanted to trade with you. Then you get to look at their shop and pick something that you want that is equal to price value of the item they want from you. It felt like I was getting free stuff and those of you who know me know that “bargin” is my middle name. So as you can see it is highly addictive and I happily let myself indulge in this fantastic game. I was so excited to trade with some really talented sellers. In the end of the trade we ended up with some amazing things from the friendliest people. We wanted to share the goodies that we received and the wonderful sellers and we recommend everyone work with.
Check out how you can become an addict too at Trade-A-Holics
Shops we traded with:
Lysbacreations
Sandrandan
Julie Ellyn Designs
Peculiar Parchment
The Recycled Pearl
Starr Clothing Company
Giggle Goddness Creations
